Arakune Ito is the main antagonist of Medarot 5. A calm bespectacled woman, who never shown her emotions. However, she has a secret as Black Mantle, as she has plotted to cheat death via a Mother Medarot (Manga) or the fabled Sun's Treasure orb.

Medarot 5[edit]
Her goal here is simple, but selfish -- cheat death by creating a medal that has a copy of her personality. She was the mastermind behind the Ghost attacks, as the four stray Medarots pretended to be Ghosts, and gave her Medals and Medaparts stolen from laboratories and people, and she created counterfeits and sold them, while using the real ones for her experiments. (this is similar to Taiyo and the Select Force selling Select Medals in Medarot 1.)
Another goal of hers was to oust the Mayor by not helping him revive Susutake, because if Densuke Tamayasu didn't, he'd be removed from office. This was not done because Ito wanted power, but because she needed the Orb hidden in the Mayor's Mansion.
That Orb in question, the Sun's Treasure Orb, was needed as a Medal Core. However, as she was enacting a plan, several unforseen things happened, not limited to:
- A boy named Koishimaru Tensan stumbled on the Kabuto Medal / Kuwagata Medal, Male Tinpet, and KBT-0 Chrotojil / KWG-0 Shinzan parts Ito hid in the Shijimi Tree, and that Koishimaru even named the KBT/KWG Medarot Omeda/Nekuu depending on the version.
- Koishimaru and Omeda/Nekuu beat the Ghosts multiple times, once at the branch of Tree were Omeda/Nekuu was first activated, again at the very top when the Ghosts assaulted Benii Shijimi, again at the Library when the Ghosts were stealing a Book, etc.
She is a manipulator too -- manipulated Prof. Hamaki Usumon to help her, with a year's worth of beef stew as as a reward and manipulated Tsuguo Nino by appealing to his inferiority complex and jealousy of Hikoo Tamayasu, getting Tsuguo to steal Nekuu/Omeda's Rare Medal.
This all backfires when Koishimaru and the rest of the Susutake Medarot Club confront her in the Collosseum, with her fielding Hardness 10 to beat Koishimaru and Omeda/Nekuu, and Koishimaru wins after a hard-fought battle. She later realizes that is the soul that matters, not the body and bonds, even Medarot-Medarotter bonds, are eternal.
in the Manga[edit]
Her goals are similar, but not the same, as she is trying to help Hardness 10 fulfill her wish, as Hardness 10 fears Ito dying and leaving her alone. Either way, her goal here was getting to a Mother Medarot rumored to rest in the bottom of the Mayor's Mansion and getting it to copy her (Ito's) personality, as a Medarot Medal is effectively immortal.
During the Cave-in at the end, Ito and Hardness 10 appeared to have died, but they departed for parts unknown.
